LA GRANDE, Ore. — Eastern Oregon delivered a statement performance on Friday night, dismantling Warner Pacific 103-78 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play at Quinn Coliseum. The Mountaineers (12-5, 7-4 CCC) rode an efficient offense and balanced scoring to secure the win.
Garrett Hawkes led the way with 19 points, three blocks, and three assists, while TJ Doman added 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting, along with eight rebounds and four assists. Jaden Hansen contributed 16 points, seven assists, and four steals. Eastern Oregon shot a blistering 58% from the field and connected on 14-of-27 (51.9%) from beyond the arc.
Eastern Oregon set the tone early, jumping out to a 57-38 halftime lead. Their dominance continued into the second half, where they built their largest lead of 27 points in the closing moments.
James Bodily provided a spark off the bench with 15 points, including five three-pointers. Brennen Newsom added 16 points, six rebounds, and three blocks, while Malachi Afework chipped in with eight points and five rebounds.
Warner Pacific (8-8, 3-8 CCC) was led by Terrin Dickey, who recorded 17 points and nine rebounds. Nzube Mekkam added 15 points and five boards, while Vincent Warren contributed 12 points and eight rebounds. Despite their efforts, the Knights struggled to keep up with Eastern Oregon's hot shooting and fast-paced attack.
The Mountaineers capitalized on Warner Pacific's 16 turnovers, converting them into 21 points. They also controlled the paint with 44 points inside and outrebounded the Knights 38-39, despite Warner Pacific's edge on the offensive glass.
Eastern Oregon will look to keep their momentum rolling on Saturday as they host Multnomah University in another CCC clash at Quinn Coliseum. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
