CALDWELL, Idaho - Despite overcoming a slow first half, the Mountaineers suffered a 71-52 loss to College of Idaho on Tuesday evening at the J.A. Albertsons Activities Center.
Eastern Oregon (10-5, 6-4 CCC) struggled offensively in the first half, scoring just 11 points through two quarters while shooting 5.9% from the field in the second. The Yotes (9-6, 7-3 CCC) took advantage, building a commanding 34-11 halftime lead.
The Mounties found their rhythm in the second half, scoring 41 points on 58.1% shooting. However, the deficit proved insurmountable against a balanced College of Idaho team that shot 43.8% from the field and 40% from three-point range.
Kelsie Siegner paced the Mountaineers with 15 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks, while Brie Holecek added 13 points, six boards, and two assists.
College of Idaho was led by Anna Mooney's game-high 22 points, including a perfect 4-of-4 from beyond the arc. Brooke Beresford chipped in a double-double with 12 points and eight rebounds, and Taryn Riley contributed 12 points and six assists.
