5 Mountaineers Hit Double Digits in Win Over Geoducks

OLYMPIA, Wash. The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers showed strength from start to finish Friday night in a 90-48 victory over Evergreen State College in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.

The Mountaineers jumped out to a commanding 45-20 halftime lead and continued to maintain their rhythm in the second half, outscoring the Geoducks 45-28.

Eastern Oregon's balanced offense featured five players scoring in double figures. TJ Doman led the way with a double-double, tallying 17 points and 10 rebounds, while James Bodily also scored 17 points off the bench. Garrett Hawkes added 13 points and seven rebounds, and Brennen Newsom contributed 10 points.

The Mounties controlled the boards with a 50-27 rebounding advantage and dominated inside with 44 points in the paint compared to Evergreen's 12. EOU also capitalized on second-chance opportunities, scoring 11 points off 21 offensive rebounds.

Evergreen struggled to find their rhythm offensively, shooting just 30.4% from the field. Jourdan Joseph was a bright spot for the Geoducks, leading all scorers with 19 points, including three three-pointers. Bradley Graham added 14 points.

Eastern Oregon's defense forced 16 turnovers and limited Evergreen to 22.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Jaden Hansen anchored the effort with four steals to go along with eight points and five assists.
