LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University senior libero Hailey Arritola has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Arritola, a native of Maple Valley, Washington, anchored the No. 2-ranked Mountaineers' backline over the weekend, helping her team to victories over Bushnell University and No. 7-ranked Corban University. The senior defensive specialist racked up 44 digs, averaging 5.5 digs per set, while posting a flawless 42 serve receptions with no errors. In addition to her defensive impact, Arritola contributed five assists and four service aces on the weekend.

This marks the first time Arritola has earned the award, having been a key contributor for the Mountaineers each of the last four seasons.

Eastern Oregon Volleyball is set to return to action this Wednesday, hosting the College of Idaho Yotes at 7:00 p.m. in Quinn Coliseum.
