LA GRANDE, OR – Eastern Oregon is proud to announce its achievement as a Five-Star Gold award winner in the Champions of Character Five-Star Award, presented by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. This honor recognizes Mountaineer Athletics for its exceptional dedication to character-driven sportsmanship.

Institutions are evaluated based on their commitment to the Champions of Character program, earning points in several key areas: character training, conduct during competitions, academic focus, character recognition, and character promotion. Points are awarded for exceptional student-athlete GPAs and for maintaining minimal to no ejections during competitions throughout the academic year.

Eastern Oregon is joined by Cascade Collegiate College members Corban, Southern Oregon, Lewis-Clark State, Northwest, Bushnell, Walla Walla, Warner Pacific, and Oregon Tech as gold award winners. Multnomah earned silver while British Columbia and College of Idaho received bronze status.
