CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon joined a record number of Cascade Collegiate Conference Presidents' Cup Academic Excellence honor recipients on Tuesday, finishing the year with a 3.30 overall GPA and 66% Academic All-Conference eligibility. Eleven total athletic departments qualified for the honor, marking the most recipients in the awards history.

"Earning Presidents' Academic Excellence designation represents the highest academic honor our departments can earn from the CCC," stated CCC Commissioner Robert Cashell. "It is a great accomplishment and recognizes the outstanding efforts in the classroom."

In order to qualify for the designation, a department must maintain a collective GPA of 3.0 or higher among its student-athletes (men and women) participating in CCC-designated championship sports. Additionally, at least 60% of student-athletes eligible for Academic All-Conference recognition (sophomore status with a GPA of 3.2 or above) must receive this honor.

Eastern Oregon achieved an average cumulative GPA of 3.30, meeting the initial criteria for the award this academic year, an improvement from the 3.19 GPA they attained during last year's qualification period. Additionally, they secured the honors with 66% of student-athletes eligible to receive Academic All-Conference accolades for their respective season, up 3% from the previous year.
