Eastern Oregon Finishes Second in 2023-2024 CCC All-Sport Standings

CORVALLIS, Ore.- The Cascade Collegiate Conference announced on Tuesday morning that Eastern Oregon University finished second in the CCC All-Sport Standings for the 2023-24 athletic year. A year after earning their first All-Sport Champion title since 2007-2008, Eastern nearly pulled off back-to-back titles but fell just three points short to The College of Idaho.

"We are immensely proud of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff for their dedication and hard work throughout the 2023-2024 athletic year," Head Women's Basketball Coach and Athletic Director Anji Weissenfluh said. "Finishing second overall in the CCC All-Sport Standings is a testament to their commitment to excellence and is a great accomplishment in such a competitive conference."

The award goes to the school that finishes the year with the highest point total. Points are awarded on a formula based on the number of schools sponsoring the sport and competing for a regular season championship. Final standings are based on the top 8 place finishes per institution.

Eastern finished with the second-highest total, 198.46 points, thanks to several standout performances from individual programs. EOU had four CCC Championship titles in volleyball, men's cross country, men's track and field, and women's track and field while also earning major points from a second-place finish in softball. Falling just 2 points short of last year's total, EOU was edged out this year by The College of Idaho who finished with 201.31 points.

"While finishing second is an accomplishment, we are more determined than ever to get back to the top in one of the best conferences in the country," Weissenfluh said.
