CORVALLIS, Ore. - Eastern Oregon Outdoor Track and Field traveled to Corvallis on Friday to compete in the Oregon State High Performance Invite, finishing day one with several high-placing finishes and NAIA Qualifying Standards.

Justin Ash set a new personal record in the Men's 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing third with an "A" standard time of 9:09.03 seconds. Hunter Nichols finished 5th with a time of 9:17.48 seconds, thereby securing an "A" standard.

Bryson Spears finished 5th in the Men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.47 seconds, good for the NAIA "B" standard mark. He was followed closely by Mason Nichols with a time of 54.61 seconds, finishing in 6th place.

Kenna Woodward continued her impressive season in the Women's Hammer Throw with an "A" standard mark of 52.85 meters. Woodward's throw would be good for third place in the competition.

In the Men's 3000-meter steeplechase, James Thatcher put up an impressive performance in the men's 1500 meters, finishing 4th with a time of 4:02.93 seconds. Sadie McCoy also finished within the top five in the 3000-meter steeplechase, placing fifth with a time of 11:52.88 seconds.

The Mounties will return to action tomorrow for day two of the OSU High Performance Invitational at Whyte Track and Field Center.
