Southern Oregon Tops Eastern Oregon with Second-Half Surge, 72-59

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Southern Oregon used a strong second-half performance to defeat Eastern Oregon, 72-59, in Cascade Collegiate Conference action on Saturday night. The Raiders overcame a double-digit deficit early in the game, outscoring the Mountaineers 42-22 in the final two quarters.

Eastern Oregon came out firing, shooting 53.3% from the field in the opening quarter to build a 21-11 lead. Maggie Smith knocked down a three-pointer and pulled down five rebounds in the first half to pace the Mountaineers. Kelsie Siegner added 15 points overall, as EOU maintained a 37-30 advantage heading into halftime.

After the half, the Raiders found a second wind, led by Bridgette McIntyre, who finished with a game-high 25 points, including six three-pointers on 75% shooting from beyond the arc. Morgan Baird added 14 points and four rebounds, while Meghan McIntyre facilitated the offense with nine assists and seven boards. Despite 12 points off the bench from Mya Alvarado and strong defensive play by Brie Holecek (nine rebounds, three steals), EOU couldn't regain its first-half momentum.
