LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon Track and Field teams kicked off the indoor season with a Purple vs Blue duel against The College of Idaho on Saturday, highlighted by multiple NAIA "B" standard qualifications. The Mountaineers excelled across a variety of events, with both the men's and women's teams achieving top placements and setting the stage for continued success this season.
The competition also featured a record breaking performance from newcomer
Sara McKen, breaking the all-time program 60 meter record with a finish of 7.73 seconds. The time passes Jasmine Devers mark of 7.75 seconds, set in 2021.
Men's Team
- Osman Osman won the 400m in 49.28, achieving the NAIA "B" standard, and placed 3rd in the 60m with a time of 6.99.
- James Connally claimed 2nd place in both the 60m (6.95) and the 400m (50.48).
- In the 600m, Reuben Manzer (1:22.96) and Logan Hayes (1:24.57) swept the top two spots.
- The 4x400 relay team of Jayce Bartley, Evan Gunning, Reuben Manzer, and Giacomo Riguerio finished 1st with a time of 3:27.44.
- Tyler Jones cleared 2.03m in the high jump, meeting the NAIA "B" standard and securing 1st place, while teammate Brevin Binder finished 3rd (1.91m).
- Mark Church won the weight throw with a mark of 17.75m, qualifying with a "B" standard, and also placed 1st in the shot put (15.65m).
- Brevin Binder claimed 1st in the long jump (6.76m), while Cameron Reich earned 3rd (6.16m).
- Van Vinson took 1st in the pole vault (4.40m), followed by Judson Mansfield in 2nd (3.95m).
Women's Team
- Sara McKen broke the school record in the 60m, finishing 2nd with a time of 7.73, and won the 200m in 25.70.
- Madisen Douglas won the 400m with a time of 1:04.26, while Brianna Morrell placed 2nd (1:08.68).
- In the 600m, Skotlyn Hill (1:39.55) and Sydney Peck (1:41.23) earned a 1-2 finish.
- Lizzy Grandle won the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.24 and matched the NAIA "B" standard in the high jump, clearing 1.65m for 1st place.
- The 4x400 relay team of Madisen Douglas, Skotlyn Hill, Carlee Jensen, and Sydney Peck placed 1st with a time of 4:15.30.
- In the field events, Eve Moore took 3rd in the weight throw (12.66m), and Harlee Grant earned 2nd in the pole vault (3.05m).
- Isabella Pederson secured 2nd in the long jump (4.85m) and 6th in the weight throw (10.98m).
The Mountaineers are scheduled to compete at the Spokane Invitational on Dec. 14 at The Podium in Spokane, Wash.
