LA GRANDE, Ore.  – Eastern Oregon University's wrestling programs continue to make waves on the national stage, as both the men's and women's teams earned spots in the latest NAIA rankings. The men's team is ranked No. 14 in the NAIA Men's Wrestling Top 25 Coaches' Poll, while the women's team checks in at No. 20 in the NAIA National Women's Wrestling Rankings.

The NAIA national rankings are determined by a panel of head coaches representing each of the five conferences. Rankings are based on individual performances across weight classes, with points awarded according to each voter's placement of wrestlers. Teams earn rankings based on the cumulative points of their ranked individuals.

Women's Individual Rankings:

The men's team's success has been bolstered by standout performances from Kyle Knudtson, ranked third nationally at 184 pounds, and Nico Rodriguez, ranked seventh at 285 pounds. On the women's side, Liv Wieber continues to dominate, earning a No. 3 ranking at 145 pounds, the highest individual ranking for an EOU wrestler this season.

Individual rankings are calculated using a detailed point system. Each first-place vote earns an individual 20 points, second place earns 19, and so forth. Team rankings are determined by the combined point totals of all ranked individuals, with the highest and lowest team scores removed to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Eastern Oregon women's wrestling will be back in action this weekend when they compete in the North Central Open in Naperville, Illinois, on Sunday. The men's team will next travel to compete in the Reno Tournament of Champions on December 22nd.
