PORTLAND, Ore. – The No. 3-ranked Eastern Oregon University volleyball team secured a decisive 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-9) victory over Multnomah University on Friday night at Jim Skagen Court. The win improved the Mountaineers to 26-3 overall and 17-3 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play, while the Lions dropped to 2-23 overall and 2-19 in the CCC.
Eastern Oregon showcased an impressive offensive performance, hitting .484 as a team with 50 kills and just five errors. Keira Vaughn led the way with 11 kills on a .429 hitting percentage. Madison Morgan and Ashton Bales contributed seven kills each, hitting .467 and .500, respectively. McKenzie Jonas also impressed, hitting .778 with seven kills.
The Mountaineers took control early, winning the first set 25-17. They maintained momentum in the second set, overcoming Multnomah's resistance to win 25-18. EOU dominated the third set, closing out the match with a commanding 25-9 victory.
Defensively, Hailey Arritola anchored Eastern Oregon's backline with 14 digs, while setters Alexis McMurtrey and Hannah Ledgerwood combined for 36 assists, facilitating the efficient offensive output.
Multnomah was led by JahNay Jardine, who tallied 11 kills, and Jade Ilaoa, who added seven kills. Despite their efforts, the Lions struggled with consistency, hitting .178 as a team and committing 13 errors.
