CALDWELL, Idaho – No. 4-ranked Eastern Oregon University fell 3-0 to the College of Idaho on Tuesday night at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center. The Mountaineers fought through a tight second set and showed resilience, but the Yotes ultimately completed the sweep.
The Yotes took control in the first set, winning 25-20. In a close second set, College of Idaho rallied from an early deficit to edge Eastern Oregon 28-26. The third set saw the Yotes pull away with a 25-18 victory.
Eastern Oregon's Emma Burlingame led the offense with 10 kills, while Madison Morgan added 7 kills on a .235 hitting percentage. Ashton Bales contributed four kills and six block assists, and setter Hannah Ledgerwood recorded 17 assists. Hailey Arritola led the Mountaineers with 11 digs.
College of Idaho's balanced attack was led by Mia Hutchinson, who posted 13 kills, with Haley McUne also adding 13 kills. Setter Savannah Hutchins contributed 19 assists, while Jerzie Bair delivered eight kills on an impressive .667 hitting percentage. Althea Sandoval anchored the defense with a team-high 11 digs.
