Eastern Oregon Sweeps Walla Walla, Arritola Breaks Career Digs Record

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The No. 3-ranked Eastern Oregon Mountaineers defeated Walla Walla in straight sets, 3-0, on Thursday night at Quinn Coliseum. The win marked a milestone as libero Hailey Arritola set the Eastern Oregon career digs record, surpassing Kiley McMurtrey's previous mark of 2,150. Arritola, needing just four digs to break the record, finished with a match-high 19 digs, setting the new record at 2,166.

Eastern Oregon's balanced attack controlled the pace throughout the match, capitalizing on Walla Walla's struggles, as the Wolves committed 34 attacking errors and hit just -.046 as a team.

The Mountaineers took each set decisively, winning 25-17 in the first, cruising 25-13 in the second, and closing out the match 25-20 in the third with a balanced team effort.

Brooke Womack and Mylie Mills led Eastern Oregon's offense with six kills apiece, while Kiauna Mack, McKenzie Jonas, and Madison Morgan each added five kills. The team hit .233 for the match and recorded 22 blocks. Setters Alexis McMurtrey and Hannah Ledgerwood combined for 24 assists, providing steady play and setting up the offense.

For Walla Walla, Sahara Browning led with 13 kills but also committed 13 errors on 40 attempts, while Kiana Cueto and Natalia Jimenez contributed seven kills each. Danielle Faamausili added 15 assists for the Wolves.
