LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University and College of Idaho played to an action-packed 3-3 draw in a Cascade Collegiate Conference game of the week at Community Stadium on Saturday. Both teams had moments of control, but a late goal from College of Idaho forced the draw.
Eastern Oregon struck first in the 37th minute when Jahrie Gray scored off an assist from Rene Prieto, giving the Mounties a 1-0 lead at halftime.
The second half brought a flurry of goals, with College of Idaho equalizing in the 52nd minute through Pierre Fabre, assisted by Maurice Notter. Just six minutes later, Jesus Alvarez restored EOU's lead with an unassisted strike.
The Mounties extended their advantage to 3-1 in the 69th minute with a goal from Daniel Kropf, assisted by Tawanda Rice. However, College of Idaho responded with Jorge Fernandez finding the net in the 77th minute to bring the score to 3-2.
As the match approached full time, College of Idaho's Pol Romero scored in the 89th minute, leveling the game at 3-3 with an assist from the team. Despite late efforts from both sides, neither could find a winner.
The Mounties outshot the Yotes 13-11, with five shots on goal to College of Idaho's four. EOU goalkeeper Anthony Lemus recorded one save, while College of Idaho's Matej Hron finished with two saves.
Both teams played physically, combining for six yellow cards and 29 fouls in the contest.
