LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon secured a straight-set victory over Corban University on Friday night, dominating with a 3-0 win at Quinn Coliseum.
The Mountaineers set the tone early, taking the first set 25-21 and maintaining control throughout the match. EOU showcased a balanced offensive effort, led by Ashton Bales, who recorded 9 kills with a .381 hitting percentage. Kiauna Mack was a force at the net, contributing 9 kills and 10 blocks, while Emma Burlingame added 8 kills, helping EOU achieve a .236 team hitting percentage.
Corban struggled to find their rhythm offensively, finishing with a .069 hitting percentage. Kendra Bittle led the Warriors with 8 kills, while Emma Bischoff added 4 service aces.
The Mountaineers' setters, Alexis McMurtrey and Hannah Ledgerwood, combined for 35 assists to pace the offense, while Hailey Arritola anchored the defense with 12 digs. EOU dominated at the net, posting 11 total blocks as a team.
With the win, Eastern Oregon tightened the race in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings, improving to 12-2, while Corban fell to 13-2 in conference play.
