LA GRANDE, Ore. – In a CCC Game of the Week match featuring two top teams in the conference, Eastern Oregon University and Carroll College played to a 0-0 draw on Saturday night at Community Stadium. Both teams had opportunities, but neither could find the back of the net in a defensive battle.
Carroll outshot Eastern Oregon 8-4, including a 7-3 advantage in the second half. The Fighting Saints also earned five corner kicks to Eastern Oregon's four, but EOU's defense, anchored by the goalkeeper duo of Sebastian Guillen and Anthony Lemus, held firm. Guillen made two crucial saves late in the game to preserve the shutout.
For the Mountaineers, Greer Snellman recorded the only shot on goal, which was saved by Carroll's Juan Muniz Navarette, who earned the clean sheet. Jahrie Gray and Marcos Bravo also had attempts for the Mounties but were unable to convert.
The match was marked by physical play, with both teams combining for five yellow cards. EOU's Cristian Trujillo, Manuel Rodriguez, and Marcos Bravo were all booked, while Carroll's Felix Billard and Michal Mojzis received cautions for the Saints.
The result keeps both teams near the top of the CCC standings as they prepare for the final stretch of the regular season.
