LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon jumped ahead early but faltered late as Lewis-Clark State completed the comeback Friday afternoon in Quinn Coliseum. The Warriors forced overtime late and took a 77-75 victory in overtime over EOU. With the win the Warriors advance to 9-4 overall and 7-0 in CCC play while the Mountaineers fall to 3-10 and 2-5 in CCC action.
The first half saw Eastern Oregon taking a slight lead, going into the break with a score of 31-26 led by
AJ Huddleston with 8 points. Lewis-Clark State struggled with their shooting in the initial period, hitting 32% from the field. However, they managed to stay in the game with a strong defensive effort.
The second half witnessed a comeback by Lewis-Clark State, outscoring Eastern Oregon 40-35 to force the game into overtime. Jaedon Bradley led the charge for Lewis-Clark State with 25 points. The team displayed improved shooting in the second half, with a 48.28% field goal percentage.
In the overtime period, Lewis-Clark State continued their momentum and secured the win with a final score of 77-75. EOU had a chance at the stripe to force double overtime but came up short.
