EUGENE, Ore. - The Eastern Oregon women's basketball team put on an impressive display Friday evening, securing an 87-75 victory over Bushnell at Morse Center in Eugene. The Mountaineers, with a 9-4 overall record and a 5-4 conference record, displayed exceptional efficiency on both ends of the court, dominating the Beacons throughout the contest.
Eastern Oregon's offensive capabilities were evident as they shot an outstanding 54.0% from the field. The team was particularly strong in the first half, boasting a 73.7% field goal percentage. Their three-point shooting was equally impressive, hitting 52.2% for the game. The Mountaineers also showcased their ability to capitalize on free throws, finishing with an 87.5% success rate from the charity stripe.
It was a breakout game for sophomore
Kelsie Siegner, recording 21 points and 6 rebounds. Siegner shot an impressive 8-13 from the field, going 3-5 from distance.
Brie Holecek and
Beverly Slater also made significant contributions throughout the contest, adding to the Mounties' offensive attack. Holecek, with a 23-point and 10-of-12 field goal performance, while Slater finished with 13 points and the same number of rebounds.
Aspen Slifka led Bushnell with 22 points, while Libby Mathis added 21 points.
With this win, Eastern Oregon improved their overall record to 9-4 and conference record to 5-4. The Mountaineers will look to carry this momentum into their upcoming matchup with Corban University, set to tip-off at 3 p.m. tomorrow in Salem.
