LA GRANDE, Ore. - Eastern Oregon Football has been picked to finish eighth in the Frontier Conference's preseason poll, based on voting from the league's head football coaches.
The Mounties secured their spot with 18 points, based on a point-based system that assigns eight points for a first-place vote, seven for second, six for third, and so forth. Coaches were restricted from voting for their own teams.
EOU is optimistic that the team will carry the momentum of last season's final game against Southern Oregon, fueled by key new roster additions, into strong performance in 2023.
The Mountaineers will look to defy their preseason ranking when they kick off the season on September 2nd against Montana Western at Community Stadium.
