KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Eastern Oregon was back in action Saturday evening as they took on the Raiders of Southern Oregon University in an elimination game on day two of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament. The Raiders ultimately outlasted the Mountaineers to take the game by a score of 10-4.
Southern jumped out to an early lead after a first inning solo home run by Riley Donovan. The Raiders tacked on to their early lead in the top of the third after a Ashton Cathey three-run home run gave SOU a 4-0 lead. Eastern found their first run of the game after a Maddy Stateler double led to a Raider throwing error allowing Haley Tyree to score. Southern responded with another huge three-run inning in the top of the fourth highlighted by Donovan double that scored one. The Mountaineers chipped away at the Southern lead in the bottom of the fourth after a Kelly Monaghan two-run homer taking the score to 7-3 in favor of the Raiders. SOU added another three-run inning in the top of the fifth capped off by a Cayla Williams single up the middle, extending their lead to 10-3. EOU found one more run in the bottom of the fifth after a Caitlin Crist solo home run before the Raiders ultimately closed the Mountaineers out to take the game by a score of 10-4.

Eastern Oregon will now wait for the announcement of the seedings for the NAIA National Softball Tournament. Tournament bids will be announced on Tuesday, May 9th. EOU will need to earn an at-large bid to make the National Tournament.
