LA GRANDE, Ore.- Eastern Oregon was back in action Sunday afternoon as they took on the Beacons of Bushnell University to finish out the four game weekend series. The Mounties showed to be too much for the Beacons as they were able to take the first game by a score of 16-0 in five innings and the second game by a score of 10-7.
Game OneÂ
EOU was led in game one in the circle by Kaylie Hoskins. Hoskins went the distance, throwing five no hit innings for the Mounties while adding nine strikeouts and only giving up one walk. Haley Tyree had a big game at the plate, batting in five runs herself, four of which came in the bottom of the second as she was able to clear the bases with a grand slam over the left field fence. Maddy Statler and Kelly Monaghan also added two RBI's of their own as the Mounties rolled to a 16-0 game one victory.Â

Game Two
Eastern jumped out to an early lead in game two after a hit by pitch scored the first run, then a Hannah Ebner double to left center scored three giving the Mounties an early 4-0 lead. Bushnell did not go away as Krystal Akagi hit a two run home run in the top of third, taking the score to 4-2. Eastern tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the fourth behind a Kelly Monaghan grand slam. Bushnell added 4 runs in the top of the fifth inning behind a three run home run by Madison Steelman, taking the score to 8-7. EOU tacked on two more in the bottom of the fifth after a Hannah Tyree two run home run leading to the 10-7 final.
