VANCOUVER, BC- The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers (13-7) were back on the road for some more CCC play as they traveled north to face the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds (9-6). Game one started off in the Mounties' favor as
Gates Leatherwood's first at bat was a three-run home run that helped lift the Mounties to a 9-1 win. Game two was a defensive battle as both teams combined for a total of six hits. UBC was able to get on the board first and take game two in a 2-1 win. EOU will look to bounce back tomorrow in Vancouver, British Columbia, facing UBC at 11 am and 1 pm back in Nobel Park.
GAME 1
The Mounties started their weekend against the UBC Thunderbirds in a five inning 9-1 win.
Gates Leatherwood stepped up for her first hit of the day and smacked a ball over the fence for a three-run home run to put EOU up 3-0 in the top of the first. The Mounties only needed nine hits today to sufficiently bring in nine runs.
Addison Ribordy also had two RBIs to help move the Mounties around.
Kaylie Hoskins tossed in six strikeouts to hold the Thunderbirds to one run that came in the fourth inning.

GAME 2
Game two had a different story. UBC got the game's first run, EOU then came back and tied it up in the third. Both teams battled defensively as they sat in a tie for the next two innings. That was until UBC Mia Vackle hit a sac fly to bring in Shae Sever for the game-winning run.
Haley Ebner scored the lone run for the Mounties.
