VANCOUVER, BC- Rounding out the series in Vancouver and battling weather The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers (13-8) dropped their final game against The University of British Columbia Thunderbirds (10-6).
Haley Tyree scored first for the Mounties but they were not able to put up any more runs. Four Thunderbird hits gave them the edge they needed to take the final game of the series 4-1. EOU will look forward to their next series at home when they host Bushnell University in more CCC play March 17th at 2 and 4 p.m. at Peggy Anderson Field.
GAME 1
The lone game of the day went to the UBC Thunderbirds. While EOU was able to get on the board first, UBC came back in the fourth inning putting up three runs and taking the lead and the game 4-1. The Mounties lone run came from Haley Tyree off an RBI by her sister Hannah Tyree in the top of the first. While Haley Tyree and Maddy Stateler each grabbed a stolen base, it wasn't enough to edge out the Thunderbirds. Kaylie Hoskins tossed in four strikeouts on the mound.
