TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - Eastern Oregon added more experience to their roster Wednesday, using all 15 players in their 72-70 exhibition defeat to Fort Lauderdale. Despite leading by as much as seven points in the first half, the Mountaineers couldn't hold off a determined second-half surge from the Eagles.
Adam Orr ignited Eastern Oregon's offense in the final ten minutes of the first half, connecting on five three-pointers. However, Fort Lauderdale outscored the Mountaineers 37-36 in the second half, grabbing the lead with just two minutes remaining and not letting it go.
Orr led the way for Eastern Oregon with 15 points and six rebounds, while Garrett Hawkes contributed 13 points with three triples. Jaden Hansen also delivered a well-rounded performance, hitting all three of his field goal attempts and grabbing three rebounds.
Fort Lauderdale's Vugar Kuliev paced the scoring with 13 points on a 5-for-7 clip from the field, including a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc. Bobby McFadden and Mark Lancaster contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Eagles.
The Mountaineers will remain in Temple Terrace for tomorrow's contest with the hosting Florida College, tipping off at 7 pm EST.
