Balanced Scoring Leads Mountaineers Past Lions

PORTLAND, Ore. - Eastern Oregon's women's basketball left Lytle Gym in Portland with a decisive 74-65 victory on Saturday against the Multnomah Lions. The game marks EOU's second consecutive conference victory following last night's win against Warner Pacific.

The Mountaineers shot 38.3% overall from the field, highlighted by a strong 52.6% performance in the second quarter. Beyond the arc, the team connected on 33.3% of their three-point attempts, with Bayley Brennan leading the charge with four successful shots from long range. The free-throw line paved the way for Eastern Oregon, adding 21 points from the charity stripe. The team dominated the glass, securing a total of 43 rebounds, thanks to Beverly Slater and Haley Robinett, who combined for 23 boards.

All five starters for Eastern Oregon contributed significantly to the team's success by scoring double-digit points. Beverly Slater dominated multiple facets of the game with 13 points and a double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds. Haley Robinett also recorded a double-double, contributing 13 points and an impressive 12 rebounds. Bayley Brennan's sharpshooting from beyond the arc added 18 points to the team's total, while Macie Elliott recorded 10 points and dished out 4 assists. Brie Holecek chipped in with 10 points.

Multnomah put up a commendable effort, with Savannah Huerta leading the charge with 17 points. Kailyn Allison also contributed 16 points, while Marin Abe added 4 assists to her 4 points.

The Mounties will return to Quinn Coliseum on December 30th for their first home game of the season, set to take on the College of Idaho Yotes at 3:00 p.m.
