CORVALLIS, Ore. - Eastern Oregon University is proud to announce that Garrett Hawkes, a sophomore guard hailing from Ashton, Idaho, has been named the Rize Laboratory Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
In the Friday victory over Carroll College, Hawkes showcased his scoring ability by netting an impressive 23 points, connecting on 5-of-10 three-point attempts. He picked up where he left off Saturday against Montana Western, recording 20 points while knocking down 8 free-throws line. Throughout the week, he also contributed seven rebounds, four steals, and 60 total minutes of action on the court.
Through five games, the sophomore leads the Mountaineers in scoring averaging 19.5 points, shooting 47.2% from the field, adding 15 three-pointers, and pulling in 25 rebounds.
