EUGENE, Ore. - The Mountaineers were back in action Saturday afternoon as they traveled to Eugene to take on the Beacons of Bushnell University. The Mounties closed out the second weekend of Cascade Collegiate Conference play with a huge 2-0 victory taking them to 5-3-1 on the season and 2-2 in conference play. 

The Mounties came into the day looking to bounce back after a tough Friday night loss. Bouncing back is just what the Mountaineers did as they started the game on the attack and were able to strike first in the 24th minute when Carlos Murillo found the back of the net giving Eastern a 1-0 lead. That was not it for the Mounties in the first half of the match as they were able to score again in the 40th minute when Max Rose was able to sneak one past the Beacon defense. After 45 Minutes of play Eastern Oregon held a 2-0 lead over Bushnell. 

As the second half proceeded the Mountaineers looked to keep pushing against the Beacon defense. The Mounties would hold their lead for the remainder of the second half as the game would stay at 2-0. 

Eastern Oregon will be back in action next Saturday, Oct. 1. as they take on the College of Idaho. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m.
