LA GRANDE, Ore. - Eastern Oregon was back in action Saturday night as they took on The College of Idaho in a Cascade Collegiate Conference match. The Yotes would ultimately end up taking the match over the Mountaineers, 4-0. 

The first half of the match was controlled mainly by the Yotes of the College of Idaho. The Yotes were able to jump out to a 1-0 lead after a 14th minute goal by Eric Hornung that snuck past the Mountie defense. The Yotes would strike two more times in the first half as Jorge Fernandez found the back of the net in the 25th minute and Ben Garrick was able to score after a nice pass from Dylan Bowes. The Mounties struggled to get their offense going as the COI defense was able to hold strong against the EOU attack through 45 minutes of play. 

As the second half proceeded it was much of the same story as the Mounties struggled to get their offense rolling. The Yotes would tack on one more goal in the second half extending their lead to 4-0 after an unassisted Joao Bastos goal. This is the Mounties first time this season allowing four goals in a single match. With the Win COI improves to 5-3-1 on the season and 3-2 in CCC play. With the loss the Mountaineers drop to 5-4-1 on the season and 2-3 in CCC play. 

Eastern will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 7 at home as they take on the University of Providence. Kick off is set for 6:30 p.m.
