SALEM, Ore.- The Mounties were back in action Friday afternoon as they traveled to Salem, Ore. to take on Corban University in the second weekend of Cascade Collegiate Conference play. It was a physical match that would ultimately end in a 0-0 draw.
The first half of the match was a back and forth battle as 11 shots were taken in total, six from Corban and five from Eastern. The Mountaineers were the more accurate team in the first half, tallying more shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net. Eastern had another great defensive performance in the first half. Only one of the six Warrior shots came on goal which can be credited to the defensive pressure the Mounties were able to apply. After 45 minutes of play the score was knotted up at zero.
As the second half proceeded, the Mounties were on the attack. Tallying six shots to the Warriors one. The Mountaineers played fast and had multiple good looks on goal but were unfortunately not able to get one to find the back of the net. The game would end scoreless as another great game was seen from Madeline Barker as she posted her sixth shutout game as the Goalkeeper for the Mounties this season.Â
Eastern Oregon will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 24 as they wrap up the second weekend of CCC play in Eugene, Ore. to take on Bushnell University. Kick off is set for 12:30 p.m.
