LA GRANDE, Ore – Fresh off their first ever win in program history, Mountaineer Women's Lacrosse will host their first official home games in program history this weekend. Eastern Oregon will play host to a pair of in-state NCAA Division III foes.

Opening Draw
• The Mountaineers (1-0) played their first official game last weekend in an 8-6 win over Whitworth.
• Eastern continues the start of the 2022 season playing two more NCAA programs.
• EOU will play its first two games of the year this weekend before hitting the road over the next four weeks.
• Following the home opening weekend, Eastern will compete at the Whitman College Classic next weekend.

Scouting the Competition
Willamette Bearcats
• Saturday's games will be the 2022 season opener for Willamette. The team went 8-3 last season with a 7-3 mark in conference play. They were 3-1 in true road contests.
• The Bearcats bring back their top-two scorers from a season ago in Catie Kawamura and Maddie Garcia.
• Kawamura tied for the lead in assists and was second in goals. She scored 31 goals and racked up 16 assists for 47 points. Of her 31 goals, 11 were on free position shots.
• Garcia was second in points and led the offense in goals scored. She racked up 41 goals and had one assist for 42 points. She led the way in free position goals with 12.
• Emma Canchola is back after leading the team in ground balls last season with 39. She also was second in caused turnovers with 13.
• Analise Wilson was second in ground balls last year at 37. She led the defense in caused turnovers with 20. She also scored 18 goals and had one assist for 19 points.
• Both Kawamura and Wilson will lead the way in draw controls after finishing first and second on the team last year. Kawamura finished with 48, while Wilson had 46.
• Goalie Shelby Sawyer will lead the charge in net after starting all 11 games last season. She racked up 88 saves on the year and had a save percentage of .553.
Linfield Wildcats
• Sunday's game for Linfield will be a non-countable contest and will be denoted as a scrimmage. Last season, LU was 7-3 overall with the same mark in conference play. They were 6-0 in true road games last year.
• Back for her senior season is Bethany Shade who led the team in goals and assists last season. Seh scored 34 goals and had 19 assists for a team best 53 points. Of her 34 goals, eight were free position goals.
• Shade also left the Wildcats offense in terms of draw controls with 98 and was the top defense player. She forced 32 turnovers and ultimately grabbed 42 ground balls to lead the team.
• Joey Duey was second on the team in scoring with 27 goals and tied for second in assists with 11. She finished with 38 points on the year. Duey was also second in draw controls with 30.
• Maia Rezoski tied for second in assists with 11 and had the third most goals with 25 for 36 points. She also was second in caused turnovers with 15 and ground balls with 37. Rezoksi also was third in draw controls with 26.
• Lizzy Harms will take over in net this season after being the backup all of 2021. She appeared in five games off the bench and had five saves on the year.

• Eastern closes out the month of February at the inaugural Whitman Classic, Feb. 27 and 27. The Mountaineers will face two squads in host Whitman College and Whitworth University.
• EOU and Whitman will square off Saturday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. Eastern then has a rematch against Whitworth on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m.
