ASHLAND, Ore. – The Mountaineers continued their defensive excellence on Saturday night with a three-set sweep over the Southern Oregon University Raiders. Another double digit block performance helped propel EOU over Southern, 25-17, 25-22, 25-20. The victory pushes EOU's win streak to seven and their record to 26-2.
The first set went the Mounties' way as they totaled 13 kills while holding SOU to a .030 hitting percentage. A big 7-2 run that included three
Cambree Scott kills at the beginning of the set helped Eastern take a comfortable 25-17 victory. The second set was the closest of the night and Southern was just two points away from taking the set until Eastern closed it out with a 6-0 run. Scott came up big again with three kills in the final six points to help the Mountaineers take a 2-0 lead with a 25-22 set victory. Just a set away from the sweep, EOU put its foot on the gas to take the third and final set despite a late surge from the Raiders. Taking advantage of 10 attack errors and a -.024 hitting percentage from the Raiders, EOU clinched the match with a 25-20 set win.
Two regular season home matches remain for the Mountaineers. They return to action in Quinn Coliseum Friday, Nov. 4 when they take on Evergreen State College. First serve is set for 7 p.m.

- Defense continues to shine for EOU as they racked up 12 blocks in three sets breaking double digits for the second match in a row and the 13th time this season
- In only three sets each team had two players break double digits in assists
- Cambree Scott had another extremely efficient night hitting .455 with 12 kills
