LA GRANDE, Ore.- The No. 1 ranked Mountaineers officially claimed a share of the CCC title thanks to Friday's win over the Evergreen Geoducks in Quinn Coliseum. The win also locked in Eastern Oregon University as the host of the upcoming Conference Tournament starting on Friday, Nov. 11. EOU took the win tonight in four sets, 25-15, 25-15, 26-28, 25-14.
Â
EOU started the night off hot winning the first two sets by double digits hitting .312 in the first and .216 in the second tallying 27 kills between the two. The Geoducks didn't go down easy, though, and took the Mounties to the limit and then some in a tight third set. Evergreen's Taylor Suka and Zoe Shaw lead the charge for the Geoducks as the duo accounted for 9 kills on their way to a 28-26 set victory. The Mounties found their rhythm once again in the fourth set as they won by their largest margin of the night, 25-14. A three to 11 advantage in attack errors helped EOU claim the final set and match.
