LA GRANDE, Ore.- The Mounties were back in action at home Friday night as they took on the Geoducks of The Evergreen State College. An intense match ultimately ended in a 1-1 tie. 

The first half of the match was a back and forth defensive battle with neither the Mounties or the Geoducks giving an inch. With both teams sitting at 5-6 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play in the final weekend of conference play both teams played with a sense of urgency as conference tournament bids were on the line. Great defensive efforts were seen by both teams and after 45 minutes of play the match was knotted up at zero. 

As the second half proceeded, the team's intensity only picked up from the already high level of play that was seen throughout the first half. It was Evergreen who was able to strike first, the Geoducks Jax Buckley was able to sneak one past the Mountie defense in the 65th minute. The Mountaineers were able to strike back just four short minutes later in the 69th minute when Marcos Bravo put a goal in the back of the Evergreen net, tying the game at one a piece. The match ended knotted up at one as neither team was able to find the back of the net for the remainder of the match.

The Mounties will be back in action Saturday Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m. as they take on Northwest University at Community Stadium in La Grande, Ore.
