KLAMATH FALLS, Ore- The Mounties were back in action Saturday afternoon as they took on the Hustlin' Owls of Oregon Institute of Technology. Eastern Oregon was on the attack for much of the game but was not able to find the back of the net. The game ultimately ended tied at 0-0.
The match was a physical one as a total of 17 fouls were called, 12 on Eastern and five on OIT, along with three yellow cards. Despite the physical match, the Mounties were able to break through the Oregon Tech defense multiple times giving good looks on goal. The Mountaineers took 16 total shots in the match, five on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net.
The Mounties posted another strong defensive game as this was their 10th shutout game as a team. A centerpiece to the Mountie defense has been the stellar play from goalkeeper Madeline Barker, who was able to tally four saves in the match, adding another shutout game to her resume.
The Mounties will be back in action on Oct. 23 as they travel to Helena, Mont. to take on Carroll College. Kick off is set for 12:00 p.m.
