Caldwell, Idaho – The No. 1 Mountaineers returned to the win column after their 19-match win streak was snapped last weekend. Taking on the Yotes of the College of Idaho in a midweek match, EOU moved to 20-2 winning in four sets, 25-20, 25-15, 23-25, 25-20.
EOU took the first two sets comfortably thanks to their balanced offensive attack. The Mounties had six players tally kills in each of the first two sets. Eastern was especially efficient in the second set hitting an impressive .500. College of Idaho responded in the third set taking their only set-win of the night thanks to an 8-3 run down the stretch. Eastern took care of business in the fourth set with a big run of their own outscoring the Yotes 9-3 to pick up the set and match victory.
Next on the schedule for the Mounties is an afternoon bout with Walla Walla University at home on Friday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. The following day will be Eastern Oregon University Volleyball's annual pink game when they take on Lewis-Clark State at 5 p.m. Breast cancer survivors get free admission to the contest in Quinn Coliseum on Saturday night.
