LA GRANDE, Ore. — Eastern Oregon Women's Basketball picked up a big win at home Friday night, taking down Oregon Tech 79-75 in overtime inside Quinn Coliseum. With the win, the Mountaineers improve to 13-7 overall and 10-2 in CCC play.
How it Happened
• Despite needing OT to secure the win, EOU still shot 41.5% from the floor and was 43.5% from three-point range.
• Defensively, Eastern held OIT (14-5, 7-5 CCC) to 36.8% from the field and just 22.% from deep.
• The game was evenly matched in nearly every category, as both teams had 28 points in the paint and EOU's reserves just outscored OIT's, 14-12.
• the first quarter saw the Hustlin' Owls score 21 points. EOU was not far behind with 18 to keep things close.
• OIT raced out to an 8-1 lead to start. Eastern slowly chipped away at the lead to stay within three after one.
• The second quarter was low scoring as the two teams combined for 28 points. EOU held the edge at 15-13 but OIT went into the break leading 34-33.
• Eastern managed to tie the game at 24-all and managed to lead 26-24 early on. Giving EOU its first lead was a fastbreak jumper from
Adyson Harris.
• The rest of the quarter was a back-and-forty affair. Neither team managed to create much separation and it was just a one-point game at the break.
• In the second half, consistent scoring by the Mounties guided them to a near win in regulation. 18 points in both quarters were key in keeping them in the game.
• Helping the Hustlin' Owls force OT was 22 fourth quarter points after scoring just 13 in the third. Late calls also favored OIT to force the extra frame.
• In the third, EOU managed to lead by as much as seven a pair of times late. OIT closed the gap and trailed 51-47 going into the fourth quarter.
• Through the first five minutes of action, the two squads were locked at a 56-all tie. EOU led by five two times in the final five minutes before OIT rallied to force OT.

Sailor Liefke nailed a shot in the final second of play to put EOU ahead 69-67, but a late whistle for a foul put OIT at the line. The Hustlin' Owls got both shots to fall to force the extra frame.
• In the five-minute OT period, OIT managed to grab a 75-70 lead in the first two minutes. It made little difference though as the Mounties held them scoreless the rest of the way.
• Eastern closed out the game with a 9-0 run that gave them the four-point win. Scoring all nine points to give EOU the win was Liefke as she willed the Mountaineers to victory.

Taylor Stricklin paced the offense with 21 points on 7-12 shooting. She also grabbed six rebounds.

Sailor Liefke scored 20 points in the win and had six boards to go along with four assists.

Haley Robinett posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Maddy Juul had a career night grabbing 15 rebounds in the win.

Adyson Harris chipped in nine points on 4-10 shooting.
For the Hustlin' Owls
• Olivia Sprague led all scorers with 26 points on 8-21 shooting to go along with four assists and four rebounds.
• Shelby Blodgett added 19 points and a team best 10 boards for a double-double.
• Abby Kresier scored 12 points in the loss and had a game-high six assists.
• Kennedy Tull chipped in 10 points going 3-4 from the field.
