CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference has announced its Embrace Health-Santiam Players of the Week and Eastern Oregon University swept the basketball portion of the weekly award.
Taking home the award for the Mountaineers were
Jillian Albright for women's basketball and
Brandon Porter for men's basketball.
Albright had a solid weekend in her final two games as Mountaineer. She missed just three shots the whole weekend and posted double figure points in both wins over Pacific University. On Friday, she did not miss a single shot in the 21-point win. She shot 5-5 overall and was 1-1 from three-point range. She was 2-2 at the free throw line and had six rebounds to go along with five assists. In Saturday's win, she posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. She went 7-10 from the floor and was 1-1 from beyond the arc and free throw line.
Porter had a pair of solid performances for the Mountaineers as they went 1-1 against the Boxers at home. On Friday night, he scored a career-high 41 points in 30 minutes of action. He shot 16-26 overall and was 5-6 from beyond the arc. He also went 4-5 at the free throw line and grabbed seven rebounds. On Saturday, he put up 17 points in another 30-minute performance. He was 6-15 from the floor overall and went 1-2 from deep. He was 4-5 at the free throw line and had four rebounds to go along with two assists and two steals.
