GULF SHORES, Ala. – Eastern Oregon University Track & field wrapped up the 2020-21 outdoor season Friday afternoon as three athletes competed on the final day of the NAIA National Championships. The final day of Outdoor Nationals saw the Mountaineers produce one more All-American in
Maggie Ledbetter. EOU finishes the outdoor season with a total of five All-Americans.
For the three day meet, the Mountaineers finished with five points on the men's side to tie for 59th overall. On the women's side, Eastern scored six points and tied for 41st overall. With the 2020-21 year now wrapped up, the Mountaineers totaled 10 All-American awards between indoor and outdoor season. The team had five for both indoor and outdoor.

Already with four All-Americans from the first two days at the National Championship meet, Eastern made sure to add on to that number on the third day.
Maggie Ledbetter garnered her second All-American honor with a top-eight finish in the discus.
For Ledbetter, she looked to carry the momentum from her All-American performance in the shot put over to the discus. She hit a mark of 145-6 on her second throw of the day to grab a seventh place. For Ledbetter in shot put, she was able to secure a top-eighth finish on her third throw of the event. She heaved the rock for a distance of 45-2 ¼ to garner the podium finish and it was a personal best throw for her outdoor career. Ledbetter walks away from the 2021 outdoor season a two-time All-American, along with being the CCC Champion for both shot put and discus.
Day 3 Recap
Ledbetter's performance highlighted day three for the Mountaineers. Also competing on the final day of Outdoor Nationals were
Allexander Kosel in triple jump and
Lucas Hidalgo in pole vault. Both competitors battled hard and dealt with strong wind conditions the whole way through.
Kosel finished 23rd overall in the event with a leap of 44-7 ¾. He hit his best mark on his first attempt. For Hidalgo, he was unable to clear the bar at his opening height and ultimately no heighted for the event.
Day 1 & 2 Recap
Picking up All-American status for the Mounties through the first two days were
TJ Davis in the decathlon,
Maggie Ledbetter in the shot put, and both
Moses McAninch and
Karianne Zollman in the javelin throw, respectively.
McAninch and Zollman were the first two of the quartet to garner All-American status as both finished sixth in the event. For McAninch, he was able to hit a mark of 199-1 on his third throw of the event. His mark is also a personal best and now the third best mark in EOU history for the outdoor season.
Zollman picked her sixth place finish with a mark of 141-4. She earned a top-eight finish by hitting her mark on the first throw of the competition. Her mark is a personal best and is the third best mark in program history.
In the decathlon, Davis finished in the top-10 of each event and had a pair of top-five finishes over the two-day span. His best finish was in the 110-meter high hurdles as he won the race with a time of 14.94 seconds, edging out second by just .01 seconds.
The Mountaineers also had a handful of other athletes compete the first two days. On the track, it was

Olivia Lane competed in the heptathlon
In the 100-meter dash, Milmine ran a time of 10.64 seconds but was unable to advance out of prelims. He placed 23rd overall. For Devers, she ran in the 200 and 400-meter dash. In the 200, she placed 18th in a time of 24.54. In the 400, she finished 19th in a time of 59.43.
Both Herbes and Nichols ran in the 800-meter run. For Herbes, she placed 14th overall, clearing the two-lap race in a time of 2:16.63. Nichols finished in the same spot at 14th for the men's race in a time of 1:54.39.
Running in the longest race for the Mountaineers was
Travis Running in the 5,000-meter run. In the prelims, he finished in ninth place in his heat in a time of 15:22.60, but was unable to qualify for finals as he finished 30th overall. In the 4x800, EOU finished 10th in a combined time of 9:19.76. The Mountaineers ran the quartet of
Katie Jo Gebhardt,
Karli Bedard,
Calista Van Delden, and Herbes.
For Lane, she finished ninth in the multi-events with a score of 4,427 points and just missed out on All-American status. Her best finish out of the seven events came in the shot put with a throw of 33-3 ¼. Over the 10 combined events on the track and the field, Roddewig finished 15th overall with 4,559 points. He had his best finish come in the javelin throw where he placed seventh with a mark of 142-9.
