LA GRANDE, Ore. – Mountaineer Women's Basketball is back in action this weekend after enjoying a short break for the holidays. Eastern Oregon is on the road this weekend as the team will battle a pair of conference foes to start the New Year.

• The Mountaineers (7-6, 4-1 CCC) are back on the hardwood following a two-week break and will look to continue their winning ways.

• The Mountaineers went 2-0 in their final home games of the 2021 calendar year with wins over Lewis-Clark State and Walla Walla.
• Against LC State, EOU handed the Warriors their first loss of the season with a 72-70 win. Four players finished in double figures led by
Taylor Stricklin with 17 points.
• Against Walla Walla, EOU routed the Wolves 77-54 to improve to 2-0 at home. Eastern was paced by

CCC Player of the Week
• For her efforts against LC State and Walla Walla,
Sailor Liefke was named the CCC Player of the Week.
• In two starts, Liefke scored 31 total points and averaged 15.5 per game for Eastern. She finished the weekend with seven total rebounds and four assists. She shot a combined 46.2% overall and was 40% from three-point range.
Previously Against Corban/Bushnell
• The Mountaineers and Warriors squared off twice last spring season. EOU won both contests inside Quinn Coliseum and is currently on a two-game winning streak against Corban.
• Since the 2008-09 season, Eastern is a staggering 22-7 against the Warriors and 8-4 in that span in true road games.
• Eastern and Bushnell faced off twice last season with the Beacons edging the Mountaineers in both games.

Corban Warriors
• Corban enters the weekend with just one win under its belt as the team is 1-11 overall and 0-5 in conference play. The team is also winless at home with an 0-4 record.
• The Warriors average 54.7 points per game and shoot 37.9% from the floor. They shoot 30.3% from deep and average 12.3 assists per game.
• Defensively, Corban is giving up 69.0 points per game and is allowing opponents to shoot 38.7% from the field. They hold teams to 29% from deep and average 5.5 steals per game. They grab 36.7 rebounds per game as well.
• Gemma LaVergne is the leading scorer at 14.3 points per game and shoots 41.7% from the floor. She is also tied for the team lead in steals with 10.
• Holly Golenor is second in scoring at 13.3 points per game and also has 10 steals. She is a 45.7% shooter and is the team leader in rebounds at 10.5 per game. She also has a team best 18 blocks this year so far.
• Halle Wright averages 10.8 points per game on a 40.5 shooting percentage. She is third in rebounding at 5.3 per game.
• Gracie McCoy is the floor general in terms of assists with 26 this season and averages 2.2 per game.

Bushnell Beacons
• The Beacons enter the weekend currently on a two game losing streak. They are 6-7 overall and own a 3-2 mark early on in CCC play. At home, they are 2-1 so far this season.
• Offensively, Bushnell is averaging 65.7 points per game and shoots 41.7% from the field. They are a 31.4% team from deep and average 16.6 assists per game.
• Defensively, the Beacons are surrendering 69.8 points per game and allowing opponents to shoot 46.9% against them. They give up 37.8% from three-point range and average 32.3 boards per game. They tally 10.9 steals per game as well.
• Aspen Slifka is the leading scorer at 17.6 points per game and shooting 51.7% from the field. She is also averaging 4.5 rebounds per game and is tied for the team lead in steals with 25.
• Morgan McKinney is the only other double-digit scorer at 13.8 points per game. She is shooting 49.2% overall and 35% from deep. She is the team leader in rebounds at 7.3 per game and has 21 steals this season.
• Bella Pedrojetti is averaging 9.8 points per game to rank third. She is the team's top three-pointer shooter at 41.5% on 27-65 made shots.
• Aly Mirabile is tied for the team lead in both steals and blocks. She has 25 steals and four blocks on the year.
