How it Happened
• EOU secured the win despite the Yotes (5-2-0, 3-2-0 CCC) having a sizable edge in shots at 33-7 and in shots on goal at 10-4. Efficiency was key for the Mountaineers who scored once in the first period and twice in the second.

• The score remained at 1-0 until the midway point of the second period as a foul inside the penalty area by C of I led to a PK attempt by the Mountaineers. Erick Diaz nailed the shot to the lower left end just past the goalkeeper's reach to give EOU a 2-0 lead.
• C of I avoided the shutout in the 73rd minute with a goal from Emil Powles to make it a 2-1 game. Eastern responded 11 minutes later with a goal from Angel Rojas on an assist from Dawson Heuett to go back ahead by two, 3-1.
