Multis Athletes Hit Solid Marks at Lauren McCluskey Invite

MOSCOW, Idaho – Three female athletes finished in the top-six of the pentathlon, while the men completed four of seven events in the heptathlon at the Lauren McCluskey Invite and Multis on Friday.
 
Senior All-American Paige Dodd placed second overall with 3,402 points. Dodd finished only behind an athlete form Portland State. She took second in the 60-meter hurdles (9.39 seconds), the high jump (1.61 meters) and the long jump (5.39). Dodd finished 82 points off her school-record total that she set last season.
 
Fellow senior Olivia Lane took fourth place with 3,085 points. She finished off her day with a second place finish in the 800-meters with a time of 2:28.14. Lane was only 12 points short of her PR from last season, already approaching the mark in her pentathlon of the year.
 
Sophomore Cheyanne Collins rolled in at sixth place with 2,952 points, a personal record to put her at No. 6 all-time in the EOU record books. Freshman Karli Bedard took 11th in her first career pentathlon with 2,418 points, ranking 12th all-time for the Mountaineers.
 
On the men's side, Jonah Coats finished the first day in fourth place in the heptathlon through four events. Coats has 2,416 points, an increase of 145 points from his best totals to this point.
 
Sam Roddewig sits in 12th place with 2,241 points through four events as he looks to jump higher in Saturday's final three events, which includes one of his strongest in the pole vault.
 
Coats and Roddewig resume competition on Saturday at 9 a.m. Mountain time to complete the Lauren McCluskey Multis.
