No. 8 Volleyball Defeats Oregon Tech for 5th in a Row

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The No. 8 Eastern Oregon volleyball team won its fifth-straight match, defeating Oregon Tech in four sets (25-22, 15-25, 25-15, 25-17) in Cascade Collegiate Conference play on Friday night.

Despite hitting less efficiently than the Owls, the Mountaineer (16-1, 6-1 CCC) were able to grit out a tough road victory. The Mounties hit .197 overall, which included a crushing .480 attack in the third set.

EOU trailed in kills, assists and digs for the match, but led in blocks and service aces to help claim the victory.

Senior Megan Bunn led all players with 14 kills, adding 14 digs on defense for the double-double. Senior middle Taylor Tibbetts finished with one of her best games of the year, posting 10 kills and no errors for a .556 hitting percentage. Bunn and senior Nina Bailey led the team with three block assists each.

Junior Kiley McMurtrey had 15 digs with fellow junior Aspen Christiansen adding 12. Setter Madison Pilon finished with 37 assists to lead all players while freshman Jessie White had two service aces.
