No. 8 Volleyball Sweeps Northwest for 15th Win

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The No. 8 Eastern Oregon volleyball team won its fourth-straight match, sweeping Northwest University (25-16, 25-22, 25-18) on Saturday in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.

The Mountaineers (15-1, 5-1 CCC) improved to 3-0 at home with a smooth victory in front of a large crowd including a raucous EOU new student section.

The Blue and Gold came out hot in the first set, recording five of their 13 total blocks in the opening game. This forced Northwest (4-8, 2-4 CCC) into eight attacking errors and a .125 hitting percentage.

The Mounties were less efficient in set two, hitting .125 themselves, but they were still able to come away with a close 25-22 set win.
