May Selected NAIA Honorable Mention All-American

KANSAS City, Mo. – Eastern Oregon's Jordan May was named Honorable Mention by the NAIA in the 2019 Division II Men's Basketball All-America Teams on Thursday.

May led the Mountaineers to a 15-15 record, finishing with a record of 10-8 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. May paced the Mountaineers in scoring, as well as finishing fourth in points per game in the conference with 19.3 PPG. During those 28 games, May made a total of 80 3-point field goals, placing fourth in 3-pointers made in the CCC. May also led the conference in free throw shooting percentage, making a near perfect 90.4 percent from the charity stripe.

The highlight of the season for May came against Warner Pacific. With 14 seconds on the clock with the game tied, May pulled up from behind the arc to hit a buzzer beating three pointer to give EOU the win 77-74. May finished the contest with 19 points and four assists.

In the 2018-19 season, May set a historic mark for the EOU basketball program, becoming the youngest and fastest player to reach 1,000 career points for the Blue and Gold, needing just 56 games to do so.

In wrapping up the season, May was also selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team. CoSIDA recognized the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the classroom and on the court. At EOU, May has obtained a 3.57 GPA as an Anthropology and Sociology major, while leading the Mountaineers to the Cascade Conference Tournament.

May gives EOU an All-American selection for the third-straight year, with teammate Max McCullough earning third team in 2017-18.
