Men’s Basketball Slips at No. 10 Oregon Tech 91-61

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon men's basketball team was defeated on the road at No. 10 Oregon Tech, 91-61 on Friday night in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.

The Owls' offense proved too much for the Mountaineers (14-13, 9-7 CCC), shooting an impressive 33-for-56 from the field (58.9%), while holding the Mounties under 40. EOU kept close after 20 minutes, but the Owls ran away with the game in the second half with a 45-25 advantage.

OIT's Seth Erickson had the hot hand, scoring 27 points while shooting 10-for-13 from the field. Mitchell Fink had a double-double with 10 points and 14 assists.

On the Mounties' side, junior Jarek Schetzle led the team with 14 points. Sophomore Jordan May had 11 points while junior Landon Jones posted nine points and six rebounds. 10 players scored points for EOU in the game.

Despite the loss, the Mountaineers still sit in fifth place in the CCC, one game behind Northwest Christian for fourth place. EOU visits Southern Oregon on Saturday, with major seeding implications. The Mounties can claim the fourth seed and a quarterfinal home game with a victory and an NCU loss on Saturday. EOU's game at SOU is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. from Ashland.
