EOU Men's Basketball Dominates Northwest Indian 120-42

LA GRANDE, Ore. - The Eastern Oregon men's basketball team earned an easy win Friday night against Northwest Indian College winning by a total of 78 points, 120-42. The Mountaineers, who scored 60 points each half, improved their record to 4-2 in preseason play.

Leading the Mountaineer offense was sophomore guard Zane Wright who had a total of 26 points and went 7-for-11 from beyond the arc. Junior center Jarek Schetzle had 19 points of his own going 8-for-9 from the field and had 13 rebounds for a double-double, while fellow junior guard Max McCullough had 18 points going 8-for-16 from the field while grabbing eight boards. EOU had a total of 70 rebounds and had a FG percentage of 57.3%.

Pulling ahead from tip off, the Mountaineers ledthe entire game, never falling behind Northwest Indian. The Mountaineers led by ten points within the first three minutes, eventually leading by almost 30 points at halftime. The Mountaineers dominated the floor, scoring 60 points each half with just five turnovers while causing Northwest Indian to go just 23.4% from the field and 32.2% from behind the arc. The EOU defense held the Eagles to just nine points in the second half.

The two teams battle once again Saturday at 3:30 to complete the weekend double header.
