EOU Defeats Fisher College 62-47 on Sunday

BOSTON, Mass. – The No. 9 Eastern Oregon women's basketball team swept Fisher over the weekend, winning the second game 62-47 on Sunday.
 
The Mountaineers (5-2) had three scorers in double-digits, led for the second-straight day by senior Rachel Fielder and sophomore Beverly Slater. Fielder had a team-high 14 points, making both three-point attempts, and adding four rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
 
Slater had the most notable line of the afternoon, scoring 13 points while pulling down 17 rebounds, including five offensive as the sophomore had her fourth double-double already this year.
 
Junior Taylor Stricklin added 12 points and nine rebounds in her best all-around performance since joining the team. Stricklin had four offensive rebounds and added four assists. Seniors Madison Crews and Jane Nelson each had six points.
 
EOU shot 43 percent from the field in this one, taking a 14-6 lead after the first quarter and never relinquishing it. The Mountaineers outscored the Falcons in every quarter.
 
The Mounites next visit Whitworth on Friday at 6 p.m. in Spokane, Washington.
