EOU Stifles Fisher College in 58-31 Win in Boston

BOSTON, Mass. – The No. 9 Eastern Oregon women's basketball team took care of business on Saturday in the first of two games at Fisher College, defeating the Falcons 58-31.

In a defensive battle, neither team shot the ball well, each finishing under 30 percent from the field and under 20 percent from behind the arc. EOU's defense was top notch, however, holding the Falcons under 10 points in each of the last three quarters. Fisher made just 12 field goals all game including only two three pointers.

Five different players scored at least eight points for the Mounties (4-2). Sophomore Beverly Slater had another double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds, pulling down five offensive boards. Senior Rachel Fielder also reached double-digit points with 10, grabbing six rebounds.

Senior Jane Nelson and junior Megan Still each had nine points while junior Taylor Stricklin added eight. Senior Madison Crews had a game-best five assists and senior Kylie Smith finished with nine rebounds off the bench.

The teams will battle once again on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time, 11:30 a.m. Pacific. Live stats and live video will not be available, but the score will be posted on eousports.com when available.
