Mountaineer Women Earn 3 CCC Weekly Awards

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon volleyball, women's wrestling and women's basketball teams each picked up a Cascade Collegiate Conference weekly award, the CCC office announced Monday.

Earning her seventh setter of the week award this season, Pilon averaged 28.5 assists in two wins over the weekend as the EOU volleyball team won a share of the CCC title for the second year in a row.

Pilon ranks third in the CCC in total assists (873) and fourth in assists per set (8.4) this season. She has earned the conference setter of the week award seven times out of 13 weeks in an incredible year for the junior.

Higa went 4-0 and won the 123-pound weight class at the Mike Clock Open. Higa, an NAIA and WCWA All-American as a freshman in 2018-19 continued where she left off with a strong tournament. Higa's wins included over an opponent from rival Southern Oregon, teammate Amber Pair and an opponent from NCAA Division II Simon Fraser.
 
The award is the first CCC Women's Wrestler of the Week award given out in conference history.

Slater led EOU to a 1-1 record at the LCSC Classic, finishing one rebound short on Saturday of back-to-back double-doubles. Slater had 15 points and 11rebounds in Friday's win over reigning NAIA D1 Champions Montana Western. She then added 11 points and 9 boards in Saturday's loss to Lewis-Clark State.
